It's always interesting to work here at Wild Purls. While Tuesdays are not my normal day to work (I know you are having waayy too much fun on vacation, Suzanne!), it's nice to meet new people and see some I haven't seen in awhile. The different people and projects walking in and out of the shop sure keep us hopping! A young knitter and her mother came in looking for yarn for Grandma's afghan. The young lady had her heart set on an expensive, non-washable mohair. The knitter finally realized that Grandma may not appreciate the yarn as she would, so she instead chose a less-expensive, machine washable, super-soft yarn, a James Brett Marble Chunky. She left happy to be knitting something Grams would really cozy up to. . . . Another gal came in raving about the Alpaca With a Twist Socrates Alpaca sock yarn. She ended up with 2 more skeins, plus a blue/green Pagewood. Before she left, she made sure we had touched her sock!. . . . Lucy Bags must be making a comeback - two separate knitters took these home. . . . Diane and her sister from Seattle popped in and loaded up on some feltable wools and the Nicky Epstein book, "Knitting Never Felt Better". Apparently they are going on felting binge! . . . Janet was bored at home and came in just to visit a bit. She said she was glad to see me. Maybe she was really just checking to see if Suzanne was back yet!
Life at Wild Purls is never boring - you never know who you'll see.
