Sweet Pea Cardi for Kiddos

Beyond Beginning Tunisian

This class continues various Tunisian crochet stitches after learning the basis Tunisian simple stitch and purl stitch. We’ll work on the Tunisian knit/stockinette stitch, double crochet, double stitch, rib stitch, Tunisian popcorn and more. We will have fun putting these stitches together to make creative washcloths or dishcloths.

This vest pattern from Mathew Gnagy out of his new book "Knitting Off the Axis" is knit in an unusual way. We'll be exploring sideways knitting, along with short row shaping. This is a great start to learning unusual construction and new knitting techniques.

Sock Clinic

Needle Felting "Embellish-a-thon"

Yellowstone Art Museum Sock

Linda continues her hometown series with the YAM sock. Inspired by the "river" leading from YAM's main building to the Visible Vault an innovative art storage facility. Linda incorporates a lot of new sock techniques into this sock with a japanese cable resembling a river. This toe up sock contains the Judy Becker cast on, the sweet tomato heel just invented by Cat Bordhi and the Jenny's stretchy bind off. Although you think there cannot be anything new with knitting (or art) this sock proves this wrong. Proceeds from the pattern will be donated to the YAM. The first class will be held at the YAM during the Art Quilt Show. The second class will be held at Wild Purls.

Beads, Bobbles and Buttons

Tunisian is not tricky. It has been called a combination of knitting and crochet and is a very old stitch that is new again. You will learn the Tunisian simple stitch and purl stitch in order to make a washcloth or scarf. An afghan crochet hook is the tool you’ll need to get started with this versatile stitch.
