I will not let the Short Row beat me.

I've been a tad remiss in my blogging efforts so I'll offer up my thoughts on whatever I think you'll think is worth reading. My experience at TNNA was probably different than Julia's, in that, this was my first and it was her 3rd time. So for Julia, it probably was more work than anything else, but for me, it was my big yarn adventure! Although after a long day on the cement sales floor, it did seem more like work. I'm sure Julia's head was aching as much as her feet!

We did run into some actual knitting celebs! Had conversations with them like they were normal people! Imagine chatting it up with Melissa Leapman, Jarod Flood, Jill Eaton and Veronik Avery.

I mention Veronik especially, because I spoke with her about a specific pattern, her Short Row Hat. It pretends to be entrelac, but is really a series of short rows, that magically turn into diamond shapes. I must have thought I was pretty smart, thinking I could break the code. I tried and tried, but frustration over an ever-present extra stitch killed my enthusiasm. But then I met Veronik and she spurred me on and I once again took up the needles! Remember that old saying "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"? Yeah, I can do it!! Well, I wish I could tell you it worked out, but fail again I did! This could also be the end the story, but I will not let the short-row beat me! I will try one more time, but this time I will have help - I'm getting a tutor.
