Come join the fun in our 3 week class where you will learn to knit and take it to the next level.  You’ll learn to cast on, bind off,  knit, purl, read a pattern and a chart, as well as make a project that you can finish in 3 weeks.  Bring a friend and learn the “how to” of the world of knitting.  We can have you knitting with a smile and some confidence!

The Final Frontier...Great American Aran Afghan

  We have at least four more squares to finish and then it will be time to put this baby together.  "Knit In" Tuesday's will continuew to work on previous squares and then we'll arrange, attach and finish our heirloom afghans with a lovely cable border.  After all our hard work, we deserve a party, so we'll plan one when there's light at the end of the tunnel.  Sounds like fun, doesn't it?  (First square, "Dance" page 38.)
 





 


Sock Clinic

Have you tried to knit socks but feel the sock won?  Do you have a pile of lonely first socks?  Karen will do an individual intervention to find a cure to your sock knitting problem.  Class one is cast on and begin, Class two is heel turn and gusset, Class three is toe decrease and Kitchner and Cllass four is pot luck, whatever you need.  Take all four classes if you are new to socks or just one class to get you to a finished pair and beyond!

My 10-year old daughter just loves this great little hat!  I know you will too.  This fun, quick project has the bonus of learning some new techniques in the process.  Kim H's fabulous new hat pattern has three sizes for an entire family of hats.  It uses a provisional cast on, three needle bind off and even incorporates some gently color work.  Great for an adventurous beginner.

Fiddlehead Mitten

Albert himself would have approaved of this design by Sally Melville.  You'll feel like a genius when you've completed this classy coat, the second installment in our series of classes based on Melville's The Knit Stitch.  Simple, straightforward garter stitch and basic shaping result in a fabulous, multi-sized fashion piece that requires only minimal finishing.  I guarantee you won't be able to knit just one!

Not everything that looks like a cable is a cable.  Using either sport/dk or worsted yarn, knit this easy hat and learn some techniques along the way.  We start with an Estonian double start cast on and then head on to the "braid".  This pattern is great fun and perfect for an adventuous beginner.

We will take 200 yards of fingering weight yarn in two distinct colors and strand it into a beautiful cap to keep your loved ones warm during the cold winter and chilly spring weather.  You will learn the fine art of stranding two colors to make a beautiful hat.

Coast Your Way to Needle Felting

Make a unique pair of felted coasters and embellish with needle felting and embroidery.  Create your own design while learning how to felt fiber and embroider for loverly results.  This is great fun and a very easy technique that will take your knit or crochet items to the front of the class.

Toe Up Socks

We will work on a bit larger yarn and needles to make this toe up sock a great success.  Start at the toe, learn a short-row heel and on up the leg you'll go.  If you find you love toe up sock knitting, a fingering weight laced toe up sock class will be offered this summer.

Let's knit Knitty's most popular fall 2009 design.  This simple shawl can be worn in numerous ways and using an easy lace pattern combined with stockinette.  So, grab your needles and let's get started!

Class Policy

Our instructors spend time preparing for their classes.  For this reason we can only hold your spot with full payment.  If you are unable to attend a class you may receive the materials and handouts prepared for you.  All classes require a minimum registration, usually 3 people and so unfortunately may be cancelled if the minimum is not met.  Due to limited space there is also a maximum registration, usually 8 people.  Register early to ensure your spot.  When registering, please ask for a supply list and additional materials information sheet.    We can refund the full amount if your spot is filled prior to the first class
