Knitting and Crocheting Classes

Summer and sock knitting are the perfect combination.  The first class will start with a top down cast on and working the rib.  Class two is the heel turn.  Class three will finish at the toe with the Kitchener stitch and class four is potluck, really potluck.  Bring food to share and loads of questions to share as well.  You are welcome to come to only one class or the entire series.  

This elegant scarf is a great way to learn some new techniques.  We'll begin with a provisional cast-on, work in the round using the "magic loop" method, read lace chars and even crochet a smilple edging.  Plus, it's our last Tuesday knit together before the craziness of summer commences; come join the fun!

Put away your winter purse and create this darling PAPER bag for the summer.  You'll learn how to cable, sew pieces together and even line your project.  The pattern is straight forward and you'll be fashion forward with this "Paper Bag."

This basics class will cover the anatomy of the basic stiches:  chain, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, triple (treble) crochet and slip stitch.  You can choose to make a dishcloth, scar or sample piece.

This is the Perfect class for a new knitter.  Choose your perfect yarn and learn to knit in the round, use both circular and double point needles, read a pattern, and create a darn cute hat, for you or someone you love.  All in one perfect hat.  How perfect is that?

This class is for any "kid" who expresses interest in knitting.  It will be taught by Connie (a grown up) and Aly Nance (a kid).  Aly is a proficient knitter, crocheter and felter and Connie works hard to keep up with her.  Choose a beautiful skein of yarn and this dynamic duo will help with the rest.  A great boredom buster this summer!  We recommend 7 year olds and up.

Single crochet, a large hook, learning a light touch and a good stretch makes this beautiful scarf/belt/headscarf!  So simple and yet so lovely.

OK all you sock knitters, be ready to be amazed.  This toe up sock takes us to a new level.  We will start with a toe up cast on, add a lace pattern to the instep stitches and then increase gusset stitches into the cleanest heel one has ever turned.  You will truly have fun and be amazed at how it all works so well.

Your little ballerina will love wearing this with everything from jeans to her tutu!  This is a great project for the newer knitter.  It is quick, fun and you'll learn so much.

This sweater is perfect for anyone who wants to knit from the top down.  Knitting Pure and Simple patterns are the way to go and with Cindy to guide you along the way, the results are sure to please.

Here is a new twist on the summer market bag.  The base and lower sides are purl brioche stitch which flow into a dense lace that creates a favric that stretches but retains strength.  Top off the bag with purl brioche again and head to the farmers market KIP (Knit in Public) ready to receive compliments on your market bag.  You will learn to Brk 1!

Crochet edgings can add just the right look to complete and improve any project whether knit or crocheted.  We will learn five edgings and a little edging theory.  This is a skill everyone should have to finish with flair.  Come join Toni and hook away.

Have you ever wanted to try knitting lace but were just too intimidated by that string like yarn?  The scarf pattern is a Fiber Trends "Intro to Lace" and is the perfect first try at putting holes into your knitting on purpose.  This scarf will be your go-to accesory all summer long.

The felted slipper is back!!!  And this time you get to choose between more felted slippers or felted boots.  It is the same basic patten with a few variations on the theme.  You'll be a big step ahead for the winter months and holidays.  Lucky toes!
