One of my favorite things to do at Wild Purls is designing the display window. When I was my younger self, my dream was to be a professional window designer, just like Rhoda Morgenstern on the tv sitcom, Mary Tyler Moore. I've always loved window shopping - literally . Back in the early 80's, I lived in Minneapolis - home of MTM - , and the windows at Dayton's Department store were the best reason to live downtown (except for the shopping part). I wanted to spend hours gazing at the windows, not only admiring the design and the clothes, but also trying to figure out how those mannequins were suspended from the ceiling!
Lucky for me, Julia usually gives me carte blanc, and we've had some pretty rockin' windows. And this latest one is no exception! An "Under the Sea" science exhibit is currently on loan from Shirley Greene or Mrs. Greene, 7th grade science teacher (as most middle-schoolers know her). Shirley's knitted sea creatures are the collaboration between her passion for science and kids and a love of knitting.

These photos are just a peak into our local science museum, but if you come and visit, there is no admission fee!
